12 May CWA Endorses Solomeno, Friedman in 13th District
TRENTON — On Friday, the Communications Workers of America (CWA) endorsed Vincent Solomeno for State Senate and Allison Friedman for State Assembly in New Jersey’s Thirteenth Legislative District.
“After the year we’ve all been through, now more than ever, we need leaders at all levels – from our towns to legislative districts to the county level and all the way up to the Governor’s Office – who fight for the issues that matter to working families,” said CWA NJ State Director Franceline Ehret.
“It’s my honor to receive the support of the members of CWA New Jersey,” said Solomeno. “The hard working people of the CWA are the same people I will fight for when I go to Trenton. Monmouth County’s Thirteenth Legislative District deserves a leader who will put the interests of our families and our communities first. My intent is to do just that.”
The Communications Workers of America (AFL-CIO) represents both private sector and public workers. CWA represents more than 70,000 working families in New Jersey, including over 40,000 state workers, 15,000 county and municipal workers, and thousands of workers in the telecommunications, airlines, healthcare and direct care industries.
Solomeno is running to unseat Declan O’Scanlon. Together with Fair Haven small business owner Erin Howard, Friedman will square off against Gerry Scharfenberger and Vicky Flynn. The Thirteenth Legislative District includes Aberdeen, Atlantic Highlands, Fair Haven, Hazlet, Highlands, Holmdel, Keansburg, Keyport, Little Silver, Marlboro, Middletown, Monmouth Beach, Oceanport, Sea Bright, Rumson, and Union Beach.
